The Upper Kern River was planted this week in sections 4 and 6. The larger model trout continue to move into the upper river from Lake Isabella with some fish going to 5 pounds being reported. The trout fishing throughout the 20 mile section has been very good the last couple of weeks. The flows are ideal for both spin fishermen and fly anglers. The Lower Kern has produced some decent trout in the canyon and the smallmouth bass bite has improved.

A few catfish have been reported around Hart Park. The lake dropped slightly from 46 to 44 percent capacity and crappie are bouncing back after a lull. Holdover trout are being taken on scented baits floated off the bottom in deeper water.

Catfish bite remains solid on Triple S Dip Bait, shrimp and chicken livers, lake isabella fishing report. Bass fishing has been decent on a variety of smaller reaction baits like underspins, lake isabella fishing report, jerkbaits and crankbaits.
